Although this 33-year-old Armenian singer was born in Kapan, Armenia. She moved to live in Russia with her parents when she was 5 years old. That is why she is now quite popular in Russia as well.
For Artsvik’s father, who is a Doctor of Philosophy, the singer was not such serious occupation. It was by his suggestion that she graduated from Moscow Pedagogical University. Nonetheless, the profession of speech therapist was not absolutely what she wanted to be.

Despite the fact that Artsvik Harutyunyan showed great interest in singing, still from the early childhood years, the critical point in her life was in the 1992. This was the year when she accidentally watched the famous “The Bodyguard” movie and got acquainted with the art of Whitney Huston.
That made Artsvik understand that her future is inevitably connected with the music. Interestingly, Artsvik Harutyunyan’s popularity and fame rose to another level when she became a contestant of Golos, season two (Russian version of The Voice) in 2013.
Even though she was not as much professional at that period as she is now, she managed to reach to great achievements and success even at that time. Right from the blind auditions she became one of the most favored participants. She was selected as a member of Team Pelageya.
By the way, she is a Russian singer who is famous for her folk songs, romances and compositions in rock arrangements. On season two of Golos Artsvik Harutyunyan is especially well-remembered due to her first bright and vivid debut on the show when she performed the song “Sunny”.

Artsvik Harutyunyan as the 11Th Contestant of Armenia in Eurovision Song Contest
Artsvik’s path in Eurovision started when she entered the national selection show ‘Depi Evratesil’ (Towards Eurovision) for representing Armenia in this concert.
During this show, she was in Essaï Altounian’s team. Essaï is a French-Armenian singer, songwriter and the member of “Genealogy” group (the representative of Armenia of “Eurovision-2015”).
Eventually, Artsvik Harutyunyan was announced as the winner of the dramatic and exciting final show on 24 December 2016. One of the reasons that she decided to participate in this show was that she always wanted to represent Armenia at an international song contest and Eurovision was the one that she decided not to miss.
Throughout the project Depi Evratesil she received the highest points both from the audience and the jury and enjoyed the love of her fans. Thus, she got the chance to represent Armenia in Eurovision 2017.
The ESC 2017 was held in the capital of Ukraine, Kiev, in May. Artsvik’s vocals and the visuals of the staging were announced one of the bests. But, that seemed to be not enough to secure her victory. Even though she did not win the contest, folks back home cheered and appreciated the efforts she made. It was obvious, probably the song choice was a bit too exotic for European audience.
Eurovision Scandal with Artsvik Harutyunyan?

Prior to the ESC 2017, Artsvik Harutyunyan was in the center of some scandals. Allegedly, Artsvik’s entry to Ukraine could have been banned, because of the fact that she visited Crimea.
However, as her sister reported in an interview, they can’t ban her participatation in this song contest as she has never been to Crimea. Furthermore, such examinations were also realized towards the other participants of Eurovision in order to clarify whether they have visited Crime or not.
Artsvik Harutyunyan’s Top Songs #1: Fly with Me (ESC 2017)
Currently, one of Artsvik Harutyunyan’s most popular songs is “Fly with me”, the one that she represented in Eurovision song contest. The premiere of “Fly with me” was on March 18. The writers of this song are Levon Navasardyan and Lilith Navasardyan.
By the way, they also wrote the songs of Aram MP3 and Iveta Mukuchyan for Eurovision. As Lilith Navasardyan once noticed in an interview, as soon as she heard the beautiful voice of Artsvik she immediately knew what they need.
