Eva is famous for not only as the singer of “Apricot Stone” in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, but also as a talented singer with beautiful height.

Biography of Eva Rivas
Eva’s mother is from Armenia, while her father is a representative of several nations: Armenian, Russian and Greek. Eva Rivas is her stage name and her birth name is Valeria Alexandrovna Reshetnikova-Tsatouryan.
For those who are interested to know why she chose Eva Rivas as her stage name, then we should say that she took that name from her Greek great-grandmother. In 1994, Eva entered an English gymnasium where she studied for 10 years and graduated it with a silver medal.
During school years, she actively participated in school’s social life for which she received different awards. In the years of the elementary school Eva Rivas was a solo singer of the Armenian chorus. From 9 to 17 years she was the soloist of the most popular ensemble of Armenian songs in Rostov that was called “Arevik”.
As the ensemble’s repertoire included various genres of music, during those years she sang both classical and folk songs, as well as Armenian pop, Russian and foreign music.
While being the solo singer and member of “Arevik” Eva became a laureate in many song contests and compositions. In 1997 the ensemble was awarded the title of “National” ensemble. Performing in the junior song contest named “Scarlet Flower” she astonished everybody with her voice and won the “Grand Prix”.
During the following years, she continued to win different prizes and awards with her ensemble. But we can’t also mention the fact that she has also graduated from the studio “Image Elite” and become one of the leading models in the region.
Can you imagine that at the age of 13 she already had the height of 180 cm? That helped her to have an exclusive right and participate in the adult beauty contest. In this contestwas awarded the title of “Miss Talent”. The other titles and awards of Eva Rivas include: “Little beauty of Rostov”, “Golden Voice of Rostov”, “Miss Pearl of Don” and “Vice-miss of the Caucasus”, the latest was held in Yerevan, Armenia.
Eva Rivas in Eurovision Song Contest
To start with, let’s say that Armenia began to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest since 2006. It has always struggled for the first place. Armenia’s best result in this contest is the 4th place achieved by Armenian popular and beloved singer Sirusho in 2008.
The second time it was achieved by Armenian singer-songwriter, comedian, showman and just the owner of a beautiful voice Aram Mp3 in 2014. Their songs “Qélé, Qélé” and “Not Alone” are popular till today. So, as you can guess Armenia is taking this song contest very seriously and it is very important for the Armenians to achieve that long awaited first place.
In 2010 Armenia selected its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest in Norway, Oslo by the help of a televised national final which was organized by the Armenian national Public Television.
During the national final both jury (50%) and televoting (50%) selected the winner. And the winner was at that time not so much famous singer Eva Rivas with “Apricot Stone”. The song had a huge success both for the music critics and for the audience.
Results of the Contest
And besides, Karen Kavaleryan had already participated as a lyricist in this song contest for six times. According to the predictions of bookmakers and experts one of the main favorite songs of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 was Armenian “Apricot Stone”.
Eva Rivas’ success in this song contest was also guaranteed by the fact that Armenian musician, composer and just “Master of the duduk” Djivan Gasparyan played with her on the same stage. Eva Rivas herself declared many times that she is going to Oslo to win.
Nonetheless, she took the seventh place with 141 points in total. Let’s be frank, you can never guess how the final result of this contest will turn and by what standards the audience will choose the winner.
Eva Rivas as a TV judge: “The Voice of Armenia”
In 2014 Eva Rivas was invited to be the coach and judge of The Voice of Armenia season 3. Along with Eva there were also three other famous coaches: Armenian musician and composer Armen Martirosyan, Armenian singer Sona Sarkisyan and musician, songwriter and producer Hayko.
Sona and Hayko already had a previous experience of being coaches in The Voice of Armenia. Eva Rivas’ contestant in the final was a young talented boy Vahe Alexanyan. Later he took the 4th place in this song contest.
Now he is participating in Depi Evratesil (Armenia’s national selection for Eurovision 2017) with some beautiful songs. He is in Iveta Mukuchyan’s team, who was the representative of Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. It feels like today everything is going around this song contest, hah?
But talking about Eva as a judge in The Voice of Armenia, we just can’t forget to mention about an incident that boomed the Internet at that period. During one of the blind auditions Eva Rivas pushed the judge button by the help of her foot, which gave rise to heated discussions and criticism.
Can you imagine how much scandalous this incident was for Armenians? Even though, in her interviews Eva Rivas noted that it was just a part of the show.
Eva Rivas: Controversial Style and Appearance
Eva Rivas’ carrier began to prosper when in 2008 she started to cooperate with the “Armenian Production” producing centre. And what concerns to the choice of her repertoire, then Eva absolutely relies on this professional team and especially on her producer Valeriy Saharyan.
Eva Rivas became primarily popular when in the 4th national annual ceremony “Tashir 2009” Eva sang one of the most difficult songs of Sayat-Nova called “Tamam Ashkharh”. Along with “Apricot Stone”, which became her signature song.
In show-business Eva Rivas, has always been a show girl. She is in the center of some nosy scandals, such as “half dressed” photo sessions and speculative rumors around her.
One of the other topics that we just can’t skip talking about Eva Rivas is her height. As the singer said in one of her interviews both her mother and father are quite tall and that is why it’s not a surprise that she has a height of about 190 cm.
Moreover, she also mentioned that she always wears high-heels and feels very comfortable about her height.
