Life and Early Career
Armenian singer, songwriter, model and actress Iveta Mukuchyan was born in Yerevan. She moved to Hamburg, Germany in 1992, when she was only 6 years old. Iveta attended school in Hamburg, which was called Sankt-Ansgar Schule.
The love towards her homeland made Iveta return to Armenia and continue her professional career there. Later she confessed that the life would have been much easier in Germany, but she had an inner demand to come back to her roots. Her parents also encouraged her decision.
In 2009 she came to Armenia and took part in the project “Hay Superstar” (Pop Idol). Even though she didn’t win, but she was one of the finalists. Due to this TV show, the Armenian audience noticed and liked this new talented singer. Iveta was something new. Her artistic approach, song choices, style and personality immediately caught everyone’s attention.
In 2010 at the Armenian Music Awards, Iveta received the award “The Discovery of the Year”. Meantime, Iveta Mukuchyan wanted to take her musical abilities to another level. So, she studied jazz-vocal at Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory.
Years later, after becoming a well-know and huge star in Armenia, Iveta took another risk. She auditioned for the second season of The Voice of Germany and made a long journey there.
Except of being a wonderful artist, Iveta always stood out with her breathtaking beauty. In 2012, Iveta was announced the sexiest Armenian woman by El Style magazine and she appeared on that magazine’s cover.
As her career shows, Iveta is never afraid of taking risks and making radical changes. So, since 2012 Iveta Mukuchyan started actively collaborating with Armenian music producer Lazzaro. She was featured in his singles “Freak” (2012) and “Summer Rain” (2014). In 2015 Iveta released a song called “Simple like a flower”, which gained popularity very soon.

The culmination of Iveta’s fame came when she was announced to represent Armenia in Eurovision song contest 2016. Iveta Mukuchyan was selected by Armenian Public TV and was to represent Armenian in Stockholm, Sweden.
The song, which was called “LoveWave” was released on 2 March 2016. “LoveWave” is composed by Lilit Navasardyan and Levon Navasardyan. The lyrics of the song are written by Iveta Mukuchyan and Crutchfield.
There was no doubt that Ivea became the most discussed and favourites of that year in ESC. The name of the song “LoveWave” is chosen perfectly, as it has become a real love wave for people. Both the lyrics and melody of the song is easily remembered and during the heated period of Eurovision it was the most famous song among the others.
Iveta said that she personally had written the lyrics of four songs for the contest, but she confessed that when she listened to “LoveWave” she knew that was the one to be chosen and represented later.

Armenian audience was also very enthusiastic about Ivata’s representation. The number of positive feedback was great. People were sure that Iveta was the first candidate and that she was the best choice.
Iveta easily passed the semi-final of Eurovision song contest with highest scores and secured her place in grand-final. In grand-final she got the 7th place.
More Drama in ESC
Iveta raised a huge public interest from different parts of the world. Everybody wаs amused with her talent and beautiful and flexible movements. She was even called Eurovision’s next top model. Everybody was sure that she is extremely gorgeous and smart enough, to demonstrate her full attraction in front of cameras. Yes, Ivera is not camera-shy!
During the Eurovision song contest Iveta was holding the flag of Nagorno-Karabakh, which is considered internationally disputed territory. This raised a mass anxiety of Azerbaijani media, as the topic of Nagorno-Karabakh is one of the controversial political issues nowadays.
The EBU and reference found that Armenia was delivering political messages, which was banned during this song contest. However, Iveta gave her peculiar explanation to that incident. She said that like her song spreads love waves, she wants to see love and peace everywhere and never see fights and losses.
Iveta Mukuchyan – The Crackerjack of Eurovision
For the selection of the next contestant of ESC 2017, Armenian Public TV initiated a national selection show, called “Depi Evratesil”.
They chose six former ESC Armenian representatives as judges – Iveta was among them. Each of the judges had their team of candidates and one of these candidates was to win and represent Armenia in Eurovision song contest 2017.
The jury members were working with their teams, putting great efforts. The atmosphere was rather heated as all of the candidates were doing their bests to be the one to represent Armenia in the most famous European song contest.
As judges were “Ex-Eurovisionians”, having passed that difficult way, they already knew the up and downs, rights and wrongs of that show. They knew what Europe really wants to see and what to do to steal the audience’s heart.
Starting from October the 1st, the music project lasted 3 months. The winner was determined by jury’s decision and SMS voting. All Armenian artists throughout the world were free to take part in this competition.
After the first semi-final, the last member of Iveta’s team Vahe Aleksanyan gained the least points and left the project. The winner and future representative of Armenia in Eurovision song contest was an Armenian singer from Russia Arstvik.
Though Iveta’s contestants didn’t make it to the final, but Iveta herself was the highlight of the project. Her appearance, costumes, unique choices and reactions to auditions was something to see.

There is a saying – Talented people and talented in everything. Iveta and her art is the best definition to this saying. Besides being a successful singer and songwriter, Iveta is also a wonderful actor.
- Iveta has tried her acting skills in “Run away or Get Married” Armenian comedy movie. In this movie she starred with another famous Armenian actor Mkrtich Arzumanyan.
- Iveta’s height is one of the distinctive features in her look. Her height is 1.77 cm, which is rather tall for typical Armenian height. Talent, beautiful height, sexy body, self-confidence and nice looking appearance emphasize Iveta’s uniqueness.
- Iveta loves speed and the feeling of adrenaline. She is fond of driving fast cars and dreams about travelling around the world by car alone.
