The Reborn Karvachar
In 2017 Karvachar marks 24th anniversary of its liberation. It was on March 27, 1993 when Armenian armed forces initiated to liberate Karvachar. By that time, the region was called Kelbajar and even the liberators were not sure that after some years it will be renamed to Karvachar.
Liberation of Karvachar was really important, as it was key strategic point. Furthermore, the control that was taken over Karvachar, provides strong ties between Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh. That was only due to competent and sufficient efforts of Armenian armed forces that Karvachar was freed from the enemy.
In fact, the operation of Karvachar was a turning point in Nagorno Karabakh war against Azerbaijan. Now we can assert that today, 24 years after the liberation, the city is brought back to life and reborn.
To illustrate, let’s note that here Armenians are building new houses, schools and kindergartens out of nothing, or more specifically, from the ruins. Moreover, new families continue to be created. What can be more important than this?
