Opera Yerevan comprises two concert halls: the Aram Khatchaturian concert hall (1400 seats) and the Alexander Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet National Theater (1,200 seats).

It takes approximately 30-40 minutes to reach to Opera House from almost every point of Yerevan. If you are in the central part of Yerevan, it will take you less time, around 10-20 minutes’ walk to get there!
Opera Yerevan is located near the Cascade Yerevan, the Northern Avenue and the Republic Square of Yerevan. So it won’t take you too long to get to the Opera House from these places, just a few minutes of walk.

Opera Yerevan Swan Lake
The most interesting and lovely place near the Opera House both for tourists and the people of Yerevan is the Swan Lake.
It was built in 1963, and was named “Swan Lake” in honor of Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s ballet, “Swan Lake”. In the territory of the Swan Lake you can find another Armenian great composer’s, Arno Babajanyan’s statue and the sculpture “Melody”.
Since 2005, during the winters, the lake turns into a skating rink and becomes a favorite entertainment place for both children and adults.
Swan Lake is a nice place to sit and see swans in the lake, enjoy some ice-cream or a cup of coffee. There are a lot of cafes, restaurants, shopping centers around the lake. During summer, Yerevan City Hall organizes different festivals and open-air concerts here.
The most memorable event in the Swan Lake Yerevan was the open-air concert of the world known US rapper, Kanye West. Kanye’s amazing concert (which was totally free for everyone) was interrupted, after he jumped into the lake and dozens of fans followed him.

Visiting Yerevan and Opera House, you will have an opportunity to also visit good cafes, pubs and restaurants. The most known cafe is “Swan Lake”, located close to the Swan Lake. It’s a comfortable café, and visitors like to sit in the outdoor terraces and enjoy the surroundings.
In the left side of Opera House, there are such cafés as “Shokoladnitsa” (“Place of Chocolate”), “Jazzve” and a few more you will definitely find attractive!
The nearest pubs are “Pub 37” and “90’s Pub”. Other famous cafes and restaurants are in the Northern Avenue, about 100 meters far from the Freedom Square.
