Shushan Petrosyan’s Talent is No Surprise, Don’t You Know His Parents?
Shushan Petrosyan, one of the most talented and brightest representatives of Armenian pop music, was born on September 23, 1967 in Yerevan.
Many people think it is not surprising that Shushan is so talented since she was born in the family of famous Armenian opera singer Arax Mansourian, who performs in the Sydney Opera House and Samvel Petrosyan, who for several decades headed Panos Terlemezyan Art School in Yerevan.
But that’s not all! Tigran Mansourian, Shushan’s uncle is one of the most famous composers of the entire history of Armenia. His most famous compositions are soundtracks for several Soviet era Armenian movies.
Shushan Petrosyan’s aunt Alvard Petrosyan, is a famous Armenian writer and politician who was also a Member of Armenian Parliament.
So, as a kid, Shushan had a great privilege to live with, learn and get advice from such a great pool of talents who greatly impacted her future career.

It seems Shushan really followed his father’s advice, as in 1987 she graduated from the Painting Faculty of the Panos Terlemezyan State College of Fine Arts in Yerevan.
From 1989-1991 she worked as a costume and stage designer in the “Ardzaganq” Theatre-Studio (Metro Theatre). This cooperation gave birth to three performances, “The Mythical Eternity,” “Antigone,” “Master and servant.”
Since 1990 her affinity for music was disclosed. Her name started appearing in the Armenian music charts and she had many appearances in various TV programs.
From 1994 -1997 Shushan worked in State Theatre of Song.
Since 1996 she became the soloist of Armenian State Philharmonic Orchestra.

Shushan Petrosyan Got into Politics Too
On May 6, 2012, Shushan Petrosyan was elected into the National Assembly of Armenia from the ruling Republican Party of Armenia.
