Where is the Victory Park?
The Victory Park is an urban park, located in Kanaker-Zeytun district, Azatutyan Avenue. The park is dedicated to the victory of USSR in the World War II.
Near the Victory Park, the Radisson Blu hotel is located, so tourists can also stay in the hotel that is surrounded by a very beautiful and entertaining park.
The park does not have a lot of cafes, but there is a very popular café in there, which is named “Venezia”. This café-restaurant offers very delicious cuisine and it has a nice atmosphere.

How to get to the Victory Park?
Well, the ones, who prefer walking, can climb the stairway of Cascade, then cross the street, and the amazing park will welcome them. If you even do not want to climb the giant stairway, you can use the escalators inside the Cascade Center.
- Public transport is also a good idea. It costs 100 AMD per person (app. 20 Cents/person).
- Moreover, keep in mind, that taxis in Yerevan are really cheap. From the city center, it will approximately cost 700-800 AMD (approximately $1.8) to the Victory Park, and the same (even less) from the Komitas Avenue.
Entrance Fee and Tickets
There is no entrance ticket to the Victory Park, but there is a certain amount of payment for each of the attraction. The tickets of amusement park have different prices.
The prices may vary from 300 to 1000 AMD (approximately from70 Cents to $2). They are segmented for all the ages of people-from the very little children to the adults, who are seeking adrenalin and great emotions.
Events in the Victory Park
There are also a lot of events that are organized in the Victory Park. One of the biggest events in organized on May 9th, the Day of Victory in Armenia.
On this day, a lot of famous singers perform and there is not an entrance fee for the concert. The latter is open air and everybody can attend it.
Another interesting event is usually organized on June 1st when Armenia celebrates the Day of protection of Children Rights. Children participate in different contests and draw with chalks on the ground.
The ground becomes really colorful and transfers good emotions. On these days, The Victory Park is really busy and it welcomes dozens of people of different ages.
Statues and Monuments of the Victory Park
The Statue of Mother Armenia
Another very important reason to visit The Victory Park is The Mother Armenia statue.
It has a huge historical significance. The current statue replaces the statue of Joseph Stalin, which was considered to be the masterpiece of Sergey Merkurov.
In 1967 the statue of Stalin was removed. Mother Armenia statue was built and from that they on, it replaces the Statue, which was built in the Soviet times.
Mother Armenia is the female personification of Armenia that is always ready to protect its people. It symbolizes peace and strength at the same time.
The Tomb of Unknown Soldier & Eternal Flame
The tomb of Unknown Soldier, which is near the Monument, is the symbol of the ones, who struggled against fascism. In front of the statue, the eternal flame burns and keeps the memory of the victims of the Second World War.
A lot of military vehicles surround the statue of Mother Armenia, and it is like an exhibition of military vehicles in an open air.
Museum of Military Defense
Inside the Mother Armenia monument, there is a museum of Military Defense of Armenia. The museum has two main exhibitions.
- The first one is “The Participation of Armenia in the Second World War”
- The second one is “Artsakh Liberation War during 1988-1994”.
The museum has also a Gallery, where the portraits of heroes are exhibited, and it is a must-visit place, especially for those people, whose ancestors have fought in the Second World War.

When to Visit the Victory Park?
The best time to visit the Victory Park is summer. First of all, all of the attractions are available at this period of time. People can try everything the park offers; from the crazy amusement attractions to the peaceful ride on a ship.
Near the café-restaurant Venezia, there is an artificial lake, where people can sail in a ship. This is a very peaceful experience, and it feels like you are far from the city, surrounded by a lot of trees, and nature is the only thing that exists in the world.
There are also very small shops in the Victory Park, which are located close to each other, and offer the same variety of food; ponchiks, candies and other sweets that people of any age are in love with.
The Victory Park is just an amazing place to visit. Besides being an entertaining park full of amusement attractions, it is a significant historical monument. It carries its piece of history.
It is not just a coincidence that the Statue of Mother Armenia is located there. This part of the city is seen from any angle and from all of the parts of the city Yerevan, and this proves the fact that the Statue of Mother Armenia guards the Armenian people.
